Cancelled: 2nd Annual Houston HIMSS Golf Tournament Postponed Until Spring 2018

Dear Houston HIMSS Chapter Members:

Due to the devastating effects and the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey on the SE Texas Gulf Coast, we have elected to postpone our 2nd Annual Houston HIMSS Golf Tournament, which was to be held in October benefiting the local Houston Ronald McDonald House. We are targeting the Spring of 2018, but a new date will be announced in the coming weeks. This decision was primarily made to support the local community efforts in rebuilding our great city and the surrounding communities.

In the midst of such tragic devastation, we have seen folks from all walks of life coming together, putting differences aside to help their neighbor. This is so refreshing to see. So much is being done, but there is still more work to do and people still need help. There is still carpet to be ripped out of homes, sheetrock to remove, and construction to take place that could take months - and in some cases even years. So let's focus our efforts, our time, and our financial resources, on helping our neighbors get back on their feet. Then let's play a round of golf in the Spring to benefit families who are fighting for their children's lives through the wonderful things the Ronald McDonald House of Houston is doing.

In the meantime, for those "individuals" that have signed up for the golf tournament through the website, we will reimburse your registration fee. You will need to re-register when we open it up again later on in this winter. For those "sponsors" that have registered and have paid, please reach out to Mark Anderson at mra@acgroup.org. You will have the option to leave the registration fee alone and apply it to the tournament early next year, or receive a full refund as well.

Thank you all so much for your support and patience. Stay safe and stay #HoustonStrong!
